Back pain is the number one reason people visit the chiropractor. When not addressed, your back pain can worsen and may spread to other areas from compensating for the pain and overusing other muscle groups.

Neck pain and stiffness are common reasons to seek medical care, including chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy. Between sitting at our desks, using laptops, tablets and phones, we are spending increasing amounts of time with our necks in one position for extended periods of time. This can lead to sensitivity of the joints and soft tissue structures in our neck.

Your neck pain and stiffness should be addressed to help you get to a point where your daily routine and hobbies no longer aggravate your neck.

Headaches can be debilitating. They can prevent you from performing your daily activities, from work to your personal life. We treat a variety of headaches, from the general tension headache to the migraine.

Any headache or migraine can be triggered by the joints, soft tissues, or nerves in your neck, stress, and even food and environmental factors. Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help determine the cause of your headache and provide a solution to reduce the intensity and frequency of your headaches.

Sciatic pain can range from being an annoyance to debilitating pain. True sciatic pain is pain that begins in the buttocks and travels down the back of your leg. The sciatic nerve is formed by nerves that branch out of the lower back on each side of your spine, become one large nerve in each buttock, and then travel down the back of the leg.

If the sciatic nerve becomes sensitive, no matter the cause, it can create local pain in the lower back or pain radiating to any point down the buttocks or leg.

Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help find the cause of your pain and help determine the best course of treatment to get you out of pain and back to your daily life.

Pain between the shoulder blades can be related to desk work and spending a significant amount of time sitting or sedentary, but can also be related to physical work and labor-intensive jobs. Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help reduce the discomfort between your shoulder blades no matter the cause, and our chiropractor can recommend specific exercises to help the pain stay away and prevent future episodes.

Spinal stenosis occurs when the spaces between the joints in your spine narrow, which can place pressure on the nerves branching out of the spine. Pain is frequently located in the back and is often worse with standing or walking, and better with sitting or rest. Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can provide a non-invasive and drug-free approach to manage the pain and strengthen the tissues around the spine to help improve daily function.

Text neck is a term for neck pain that is caused or exacerbated by the position of our neck when using a screen device, looking down. Like any sustained position, this places stress on the tissues in the back of the head, neck, and upper back, and can cause stiffness and pain.

Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help reduce the pain associated with text neck, and our chiropractor and acupuncturist can recommend lifestyle modifications that can help reduce the frequency of your current neck pain and help prevent future occurrences.

At Neighborhood Chiropractic and Acupuncture, our sports chiropractor cares for a variety of athletes, including casual weekend warriors, high school athletes, as well as elite endurance and outdoor sports athletes. We can provide treatment plans for before, during, and after an event.

Our holistic and sport-specific plans help our athletes get back to training after an injury, maintain their training while preventing injuries, and learn to manage and modify their training based on the health of their tissues and body.

Whether you are dealing with chronic pain after an old injury, or recently injured your ankle, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help get you back on your feet.

The ankle requires a balance between strength/stability and mobility to perform in daily life without pain. It is important to figure out exactly what your ankle needs to heal and then become strong enough to handle the loads of your work duties, personal life, and hobbies.

Plantar fasciitis is a common reason for pain in the bottom of the foot. There are, however, a variety of other issues that can cause foot pain, from nerve impingement, to a sprain to one of the many joints in the foot and more.

At Neighborhood Chiropractic and Acupuncture, our sports chiropractor can help you determine the root cause of your foot pain, what the best course of treatment will be, and will likely give you exercises to do at home to support your in office care.

Herniated and bulging discs can cause pain, but not all disc herniations or bulges are created equal. Pain from disc-related issues can be local to your lower back, but it can also radiate to any part of your buttocks or leg and may cause numbness, tingling, or weakness in the leg or foot.

Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help reduce your pain, educate you on ways to manage the pain at home, and help you get back to your daily life with the knowledge and tools to help prevent future episodes of disc-related pain.

At Neighborhood Chiropractic and Acupuncture, our experienced chiropractor will monitor your symptoms and keep an open line of communication if imaging such as an x-ray or MRI are necessary or if a referral to a different type of provider is needed.

Golf involves repetitive movements that can lead to injury and pain overtime. Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can help reduce the intensity of your discomfort when you are actively in pain. Then, rehab with our sports chiropractor can help assess if anything in your golf swing is contributing to your pain, help modify form if needed, and recommend exercises to support your golfing.

Runners and triathletes of all types, from the casual runner, the couch to 5k, and those training for longer distances, can benefit from working with a sports chiropractor. Don’t wait until your pain is keeping you off your feet, bike, or out of the water. We can help reduce your pain, get you back to your activity, and help with training ideas and recommendations to reduce the potential for future injury.

Shin splints can be quite painful and limiting. Treatment often involves assessing strength in the muscles of the calf and shin, looking for imbalances and weaknesses,  recommending specific exercises to improve strength and reduce pain, and educating you on how to prevent future episodes of that awful shin splint pain.

Healing and recovering from a shoulder dislocation should not stop when the pain is gone. Without proper rehab, the joint can remain looser than it was prior to the dislocation, and future occurrences or pain can be more likely. Our sports chiropractor has the rehab tools to help make sure you know how to stabilize and strengthen your shoulder to prevent future injuries.

Rib injuries are painful and often grouped into the “there’s nothing you can do” category. Our sports chiropractor can absolutely help your rib injury heal faster than on its own, and you are more likely to heal 100% with care than without. Whether you have pain in the ribs from coughing during cold and flu season or had a traumatic injury that may have fractured a rib or injured the cartilage connecting the rib to the sternum (breast bone), a combination of chiropractic care and acupuncture can be very beneficial in supporting your healing process.

As a sports chiropractor, Dr. Allie is equipped with the skills to assess concussions from sports injuries, car accidents, work injuries, and more. Concussions can affect us in more ways than just pain, and can really limit our daily life. A combination of sports chiropractic care, cranial-sacral massage, and acupuncture can give you the tools you need to heal from your concussion.

From cramming your body into weird positions in boats, putting pressure on your hips and sciatic nerve, and high loads on your shoulder to the potential for overuse and acute back injuries from drops and waterfalls, whitewater kayaking can present a host of tweaks and both overuse and acute injuries. Don’t suffer through a season of pain. Our sports chiropractor, and whitewater kayaker, can help you manage your pain and give you the tools you need to rehab your injuries at home and on the go.

Car accidents of all speeds can cause injury and pain. It is often thought that lower speed collisions are no big deal and won’t give you lasting pain. In fact, research shows that slower speed collisions actually transfer more energy to your body, instead of to the vehicle, as can happen at higher speeds.

The process can be overwhelming. We can help explain the process, and make sure you get to focus on doing what you need for your body to recover, and get back to your daily routine.

Recovering from surgery often involves limiting use of the joint to allow for healing, which can lead to severe stiffness that can be difficult to regain. We can help support your recovery with in-office treatments to help with the compensation from overuse of other areas, improving circulation and mobility to the affected area, and at home care to speed up your recovery time and get you back to the life you want.

Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can be utilized to aid the recovery of sore muscles due to regular use, overuse, and starting something new. From in-office care to help alleviate soreness to education on how to care for your sore muscles at home, we can help keep you feeling good and minimize downtime due to injuries.

With Dr. Allie’s continued education in Neurodynamics and studying the peripheral nerves can be exactly what you need to understand your carpal tunnel symptoms and figure out what can be done to alleviate any pain, numbness, or tingling you may have.

Knee pain is common among all types of individuals, and can be difficult to get an answer that really helps. Assessments for knee pain here at Neighborhood Chiropractic and Acupuncture will be geared toward finding the root cause of your knee pain. Finding the root cause helps us determine the best in-office interventions and home exercises to get rid of your knee pain and get you back to performing your normal routine pain-free.

Shoulder pain can be complex, annoying, and even debilitating. Our sports chiropractor will do a thorough exam to help determine the root cause of your shoulder pain to help target treatment to what will get you out of pain as fast as possible. We will also recommend exercises to support you through the healing process and then challenging modifications to perform as injury prevention once pain is reduced and your day-to-day function is restored!

Elbow pain, whether it be ‘tennis elbow’ or something else, can be really challenging to deal with. A combination of chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy can significantly speed up the process of healing elbow pain. Whether the issue is due to the muscles or tendons of the arm and forearm, the superficial nerves traveling down the arm, or a ligament or joint issue in the elbow itself, we are here to help you get out of pain and back to your daily routine.
