Chiropractic Care

At Neighborhood Chiropractic & Acupuncture, chiropractic care is more than an adjustment. Each treatment is designed around your specific needs, using a blend of evidence-informed techniques that address each complaint from multiple angles, including joint, muscle, tendon, fascia, nerve, and movement. This approach allows us to treat your body as a whole stymie, improving mobility, reducing pain, and improving daily function to get you back to doing what you love.

Sports Injury Care

As a sports chiropractor with a masters in exercise and sports science, Dr. Allie works with all types of athletes, including runners, climbers, skiers, mountain bikers, whitewater kayakers, soccer players, and weight lifters. Whether you are a weekend warrior or an elite level athlete, we can help you recover from both acute and overuse injuries, to return you to movement safely and efficiently. Treatment focuses on identifying the source of pain or restriction, improving body mechanics, and restoring strength and stability for long-term performance.

NeuroCentric Approach (NCA)

We incorporate the NeuroCentric Approach®, co-developed by Dr. Phillip Snell, which focuses on understanding how the nervous system contributes to pain and movement dysfunction. Rather than focusing only on muscles and joints, this approach looks at how irritated or sensitive nerves can influence the way we feel, move, and function. This approach helps relieve pain, restore normal movement, and support long-term improvement.

We utilize the Dermal Traction Method (DTM), developed by Dr. Phillip Snell, to help restore normal movement and decrease pain by targeting the superficial nerves and their relationship to the skin, fascia, and muscles nearby. Using gentle manual traction or dynamic cupping with soft silicone cups, we lift the skin in specific areas and guide you through controlled movements of the affected region. This process reduces irritation and improves mobility, and can provide quick, lasting relief, even for areas that have been tight or painful for a long time.

Rehab Exercises
Spinal Manipulation (SMT)
Extremity Manipulation

Created by Michael Shacklock DipPhysio, MAppSc, FACP, this approach involves the assessment and treatment for nerve pain and movement disorders, including specific nerve gliding (or "flossing") techniques.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) also known as “scraping,” uses specialized tools to address tight or scarred soft tissue. It helps improve blood flow, stimulate healing, and release adhesions that can restrict movement.

Targeted exercises support and complement in office treatment by increasing local blood flow, improving stability, reducing compensating patterns, and developing strength. Exercise is used during all stages of care, including as rehab for a current injury, as prehab to prevent future injury, and also as training to improve performance.

Gentle, precise adjustments restore normal motion to the joints of the spine, to help improve mobility and reduce stiffness. Adjustments can be done manually or using tools to reduce impact to the joint, and is based on your comfort level and current pain or injury.

We also adjust joints outside the spine, such as the shoulders, hips, knees, wrists, and ankles, to improve alignment, function, and coordination throughout the entire body.

Based on the work of Luigi and Carla Stecco, this method targets the deep fascial system to restore proper tissue glide and movement coordination. By addressing fascial dysfunction, it helps improve mobility, decrease pain, and optimize muscle activation.

What is Acupuncture

Acupuncture is based on the fundamental idea that imbalances, blockages in the flow of Qi (energy), or stagnation, can lead to various physical, mental, and emotional health issues. Just as Western medical doctors monitor the blood flowing through blood vessels and the messages traveling via the nervous system, acupuncturists assess the flow and distribution of energy within its pathways, meridians, and channels.

From chronic pain management, such as back pain, migraines, or arthritis, to stress reduction, anxiety, and insomnia, acupuncture is known for its capacity to alleviate symptoms, improve circulation, and enhance overall well-being.
